ORIGIN STORY

The young girl from the 30th century who would be come to be known as Lamprey started life as a normal Earth girl known as Tayla Skott. After her uncle performed less than legitimate experiments on her, she was anything but normal. Though the only goal of the experiment was to graft gills to a human being, Tayla had in addition bright green skin and the ability to store and project electricity. Wanting to use her powers for good, she tried out for the Legion of Super-Heroes.

During her tryouts she met Nightwind, Crystal Kid and Blok, other potential recruits at the event. When the Legion decided to have them wear their special flight rings and go out on a mission with them, it was to see their capacity on a field assignment. Thinking that the mission was only a test and not real, Lamprey, Nightwind and Crystal Kid were easily defeated by the villains known as the Starburst Bandits. Blok, however, stopped the criminals and also won membership into the Legion.

Lamprey, Crystal Kid and Nightwind trained with Wildfire. After Wildfire trounced them in a sparring match, he confided in the three his true tragic past. A past he had not shared with other members of the Legion. Lamprey grew to greatly admire Wildfire, and decided not to give up.

Lamprey applied to the Legion Academy along with her future best friend, Nightwind. Together they worked alongside their classmates, and over time Tayla seemed to develop a bit of a crush on the Legion Academy instructor, the Legionnaire Wildfire. Once, when Laurel Kent and Comet Queen were bad-mouthing Wildfire, both Lamprey and Nightwind attacked the two in defense of their mentor.

She participated in training missions with the Academy until it closed. Afterwards, she moved on to teaching a new generation of galactic defenders at the United Planets Militia Academy.

Converted characters, most of the times, unavoidably exceeds the 45-point limitation that the ICONS Superpowered Roleplaying Game core book recommends. Character revised according to rules presented in ICONS Great Power book. Streamlined, once again, according to ICONS Superpowered Roleplaying: The Assembled Edition.
